Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Initiatives in Punjab Budget 2021

• The State Secretary of Finance declared an rise in the old-age pension from 750 rupees to 1,500 rupees per month.
• He also declared an expansion in the amount under the Shagun Yojana from ₹ 21,000 to ₹ 51,000.
• The monthly pension for freedom fighters will be risen from $ 7,400 to $ 9,400.

Free Travel for Students and Women on Government Buses – All- students and female passengers do travel for free on government-run buses and Rs 170 crore has been put aside for the same.

3. Monetary assistance for program launch – The state government has given rupees 1104 crores for successful implementation of the program with an additional of rupees 3780 to be given in the coming next years.
4. Initiative from state authorities– The basic purpose of such contribution is to upgrade the agricultural condition in the punjab and assist the farmers lead a good life without the load of loan and bad crop produce.

List of Welfare Schemes by Punjab Government

Free power to farmers

• Free power supply has been provided to around14.23 lakh farmers and it needed rupees 23, 851 crores
• State authorities are trying their best to continue providing the power supply to the farmers

Loan waiver for crop production framers

• For this, the state government has given budgetary loan of rupees 10 crores

Krishi Vikas Yojana

For this Yojana, the state government has done a granting of rupees 200 crores. The basic plan is to certain better development of agriculture sector along with the Punjab allied services.
